The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Friday, May 23 reveals Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will finally escape from under Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) thumb.
Also coming up, Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) will give Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) some bad news. Plus, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will be concerned about Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) plan. And Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will start to set her trap.
Y&R spoilers tease Kyle will find a basket of cookies waiting on the reception desk at Jabot. They’re from Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), with a note, apologizing for how harsh she was at their breakfast. Diane will arrive and tell Kyle she and Jack will be going to Italy, Greece and France.
But she’s nervous about leaving, they could be gone for weeks or maybe even a month. Kyle will tell her they should go, he’ll hold down the fort. However, Diane will say she’s worried about his newfound obsession with Audra.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Kyle Thinks Audra Is Setting A Trap For Him
Kyle will admit his impulse to win has never really gone away. “The devil taps me on the shoulder and says do something.” He’ll admit Audra’s a pain but it’s really about Victor. “I hate what he has done to this family and I hate what he is doing to me and Claire.”
He wonders if he can be the man Claire wants him to be. “Or am I just like Victor?” Then Diane will sing Claire’s praises, like every other character does, every single day. After Diane thanks him for opening up, he’ll get a text from Audra, asking if he’s free for a drink later.
He’ll show it to Diane and tell his mom it seems obvious that Audra’s trying to set a trap for him. Diane will tell him to be careful. “Victor and Audra think I’m a pushover,” he’ll reply. “They’re about to get the shock of their life.”
At the GCAC, Nikki will show Lauren the locket Victor gave her. Lauren will tell her Michael’s with Victor and he’s telling him something that will make him furious. “You should prepare yourself,” she’ll add. “It could get very ugly.”
Nikki will want to know what bad news Michael is delivering. Lauren will tell her she finally convinced Michael to stop working for Victor. “Oh my God, Michael is quitting?” Nikki will say, overreacting. Then Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will approach and ask them if everything is all right.
Lauren will say Michael’s quitting working for Victor. “I admire what Michael is doing, I think he made the right move,” Jack will say. But Nikki will go on and on and on about how Michael is the only person who can reign in Victor and yes, it’s as tedious as you can imagine.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Victor Accuses Him Of Planting The Spy
Meanwhile, a nervous Michael will show up at the ranch. Victor will tell him they have a lot to discuss. Not surprisingly, he’ll start with Aristotle Dumas. Michael will say Dumas is gaining capital to make a big move.
Victor will ask about Jabot and Michael will tell him since the Abbotts exposed the spy, that avenue is closed. But Victor will say he’ll find another way in. They’ll discuss the romantic evenings they just spent with their wives and Michael will say there are some changes he’d like to make in his life.
The Mustache will say it sounds serious and ask him what it is. So, Michael will tell Victor he appreciates him giving him another chance. “You’re quitting, right?” Victor will ask. And Michael will say it’s time for him to take a step back. “I understand,” he’ll reply. “There comes a time in a man’s life when you stop and smell the damn roses.”
Michael will tell him he wasn’t expecting this reaction. But once the reality of it hits him, Victor’s attitude will do a 180. “I won’t let you do it!” he’ll tell Michael. “You can’t jump ship now, at this juncture.” Michael will say there will always be a crisis for him.
Victor will say he needs Michael’s legal guidance. Michael will point out he’s making it hard for him to leave. “I’m not going to make it harder, I’m going to make it impossible,” Victor will reply. However, he’ll then ask Michael what the real reason is that he’s quitting. “My wife wants me to,” he’ll reply.
Then Victor will ask why this is happening now. Michael will say because of his vendetta against Jack. So, Victor will ask Michael if he’s choosing Jack’s side over his. “Are you the one who told the Abbotts about planting spies at Jabot?” Michael will say he’d never betray him like that. “Just let it go, it is impossible for you to win this war!”
Finally, Nikki will arrive and Michael will get up to leave. He’ll ask Victor to wish him well. But Victor will refuse. Instead he’ll just sit, stone faced, in his chair. “Goodbye Victor,” Michael will say.
